Hello, Steemians! Here is another travel series I would like to share to all of you.
Last February 9, we went to Camiguin with my family. We started to travel at 3:30 am and arrived in Balingoan Port at 6:00 am. We waited for the 9:00 am trip since the 8:00 am trip was already full of passengers. Right after we arrived in Camiguin at 10:30 am, we then straight to Pabua’s Inn to freshen’ up ourselves and to settle our rooms and things.
Our first destination was in Sunken Cemetery located at Catarman, Camiguin Island. We haven’t able to go at the big cross because our time was limited and it was very hot at that time. So, we just did taking pictures and feelin’ the fresh air it brought.
Our next destination was spring hopping. The first spring destination was in Bura Soda Water Swimming Pool, which is one of the tourist spots and swimming destination in Camiguin. The entrance fees were very cheap it only cost 30PHP for adults and 15PHP for the kids. The lifeguards were strict but very friendly. It was my first time to saw a huge pool and the color wasn’t the typical blue, it was in a shade of light green. It was a very refreshing place, indeed. My cousins told me that the taste of the water was sweet, I wasn’t able to try because I’m afraid to have a stomach problem. Hehe. Also, they say that the water was medicinal, not sure if it’s true.
Our second spring destination was the famous Sto. Nino Cold Spring. It also has the same entrance fees with Bura Soda Water Swimming Pool: adults-30PHP and kids-15PHP. It was indeed a very cold spring, I guess it was in 10 degrees Celsius, I wasn’t sure about it but it was super cold. Hehe. There was also a fish spa but they called it kiss spa. It was my first time to tried it and it’s very relaxing.
The last spring we went to was the another famous Ardent Hot Spring. We arrived there at 5 pm and the place was very cold. A good thing to jump into the spring. We spent our dinner there and ordered to their restaurant. We ordered creamy mushroom and sotanghon soup and pinakbet for our dinner. Their food was very delicious, a must try if you visit there. I wasn’t able to take pictures because my phone was empty bat and the place doesn’t have a good lighting since it was already night at that time. Sorry
For our day 2 and probably our last day in Camiguin, we went to the most famous tourist spot in Camiguin, the White Island. We rode with a bangka which cost 450 PHP for 6 persons maximum and traveled for 10 minutes. The island doesn’t have trees nor plants it was all white sand. Since there was no shelter, they have an umbrella and mat for rent in there. I suggest wearing rash guards since it was very hot. They also sell ‘salawaki and tuyom’, very yummy, a must try to eat. It was a very nice place to do snorkeling, swimming and to take instagrammable pictures. A must visit in Camiguin, indeed.
The last two places we went were in Katibawasan Falls and the Giant Clams Sanctuary & White Beach.
In Giant Clams Sanctuary, there are kids who will give a piece of information about clams. You’ll be amazed by the kids in there. They also have a snorkeling package there. A must try to visit.
We haven’t able to go to Mantigue Island because we don’t have time already because our trip back home was at 3 pm and the island was 30 minutes ride in a Bangka.
