I'm in Kuala Lumpur at the moment and there are several thing I learned about how to get around the city.
First KLIA or Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 is an hour drive to KL Sentral. We opted to ride the coupon taxi which costed us 118 Malaysian Ringgit. It was a mistake. So a tip to travelers is just to use the metered taxi. The taxi will go through the expressway so there is no traffic and it only costed us 72 Malaysian Ringgit. 
For getting around the city itself has great options. One is the two-decker bus which is actually cheap. You can only pay for 1 or 2 Ringgit each ride. 
The better option for budget travellers is to use the free bus.Yes, it is absolutely free and it is everywhere around KL.
KL is such a beautiful city so visit the mosques.
