Booking.com and Airbnb, two of the most known Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) are ranked globally among Top 100 (Booking) and among Top 400 (Airbnb) websites, which definitely proves that traveling represents a very important aspect of life of today's society. One would believe that the popularity of Booking and Airbnb is a result of best prices they offer and of the best quality service they provide. But is it all really like that? The biggest OTAs (not just the two mentioned above) charge up to 30% commissions, which are deducted from the price you pay when booking a certain accommodation. This means that the property owner gets up to 30% less then what you have actually paid. What is LockTrip?
LockTrip is hotels and vacation rentals marketplace with 0% commissions. Their business model is called freemium, which means that the marketplace is free of charge for both accommodation providers and seekers, whereas the operational costs (and profit) are covered from the premium features that marketplace has to offer. Their business model offers travelers to save on average 20% on bookings on Locktrip.
How can you book a room on LockTrip?
First you need to create your account, which is a fast and straightforward procedure. Go to LockTrip, click Register, fill in the required fields and that is it. Just insert your travel destination, time period of your travel, number of nights and other required data. After you find a perfect place for you, you can book it with credit/debit card (there is 2.5% fee) just like you would on Booking or Airbnb. Those that are familiar with cryptocurrencies can also make a booking using LockTrip (LOC) tokens (there is no additional fee for these payment).
Do you not find your favorite hotel on Locktrip?
Just wait a couple of more days and LockTrip will add additional 400.000 hotels to their marketplace. And this is not all.
