But Shinto priests are very concerned about the arrival of tourists here. The priests also expressed a vicious reaction to this. Takayuki Ashiju, chief priest of the three top monasteries in Munakata, said, "Although it is a UNESCO heritage, we will not open this island for the common man. It is not right to come to the gods of the common people without proper reason. '

It is noteworthy that this is not the religious place forbidden to enter women in Japan; Sanzo Mountain of Yosino-Kumano National Park of Honshu Island is also prohibited for women. From the seventh century onwards, this mountain is a pilgrimage place for Buddhists.
