This is Thailand. Chapter 12: Cheating. Part 4 - Last.

in #travel6 years ago

Ao Nang is a pleasant place. In the past it was a village popular among the young, but now is evolving into a small town more often frequented by wealthy tourists. Life in Ao Nang was easy. Most of the hotels, restaurants, bars and shops were located along a rather medium quality beach of along the road leading to the airport in Krabi. Even though it was officially the beginning of the season, the town was practically abandoned.

I walked around on the sleepy streets amongst Hindus offering the cheapest suits, Arabs inviting me to smoke Shisha and Thai tuk-tuk drivers offering me 2- baht rides anywhere in town, most places that I could easily reach on foot.

I tried to find a place to sleep that, on the one hand, wouldn’t completely blow my budget, while on the other wouldn’t cause a shock due to the fact that just a few hours before I had checked out of one of the best hotels in Phuket. Contrary to most young travellers, I am not turned on by cheap hostels or spending time with backpackers. Some people see in cheap hostels the opportunity to meet other “travellers” and exchange experiences. I see dirt, uncomfortable beds, thin dividing walls and parties until four in the morning, which doesn’t really tie in with the reason to be in this place at all. To sleep. When it comes to the people, they are not really that special either. A typical backpacker carries a “Lonely Planet” under their sweaty armpit and the only thing he really knows is how to exchange information he found in the guidebook. A typical conversation of backpackers goes more or less like this:

-Where are you from?
-The United States. And you?
-Germany.
-Cool. Where from exactly?
-Berlin. And you?
-New York
-Cool. Have you been to Koh Phi Phi yet?
-No, I’m going tomorrow. And you?
-I’ve been there already.
-Is it cool?
-It is cool.
-Have you slept in XYZ hostel?
-I haven’t slept there. Is it cool?
-Not cool. The worst hostel I’ve been to.
-Seriously? My worst hotel was ZYX.
-Cool.
-Are we going to get wasted?
-Yeah. Now or in the evening?
-Now and in the evening!
-Ha ha, so cool!

With all due respect, I flake out and avoid backpackers like wildfire. You can learn so much more about a country and the culture from locals. Especially when you learn from a beautiful smelling flower like a Thai woman who smiles at you like western women used to before the arrival of feminism.

I ended up in a travel agency where I clearly described my expectations. No hotels and backpackers. It must be quiet, calm, easy, cheap but comfortable. A girl at the counter understood immediately and offered me a wooden bungalow with air-conditioning in a new resort for 600 baht per night. The resort consisted of a few small houses that were located on a quiet road, about ten minutes walk from the beach. I checked-in and cut myself an afternoon nap.

In the evening, I was woken by a text from Piam, who was complaining about something else. We were supposed to talk upon my return but she couldn’t keep from spitting her venom at me. I considered shortening the conversation on my arrival to a bare minimum, which would have meant a quick ending to this unhealthy relationship. I switched off the phone, not wanting to ruin my evening. It was time to hit the city and hope it wouldn’t hit back.

With the evening drop in temperature, the main street along the beach livened up a bit. There were more farangs walking among the street stalls, while some bars played louder music. Thankfully this place was nothing like Kho San Road in Bangkok, or Patong Beach in Phuket. I reached the main party zone, where there were a few nice bars, competing for clients through loud music and strong stroboscopic lights. The whole complex resembled Nana Place in Bangkok, but without the prostitutes.

I sat in one of the bars and ordered a bucket of vodka with a local version of Red Bull. I drank it all through a straw in a matter of minutes and ordered another one. Repeating the process. I paid the bill and tried to walk straight as I checked out the other bars. None of them look particularly appealing, until I found some mysterious escalators leading to the first floor. On the right of the escalator was a big, empty bar where two attractive women ran to greet me. The younger one, with a tight, sexy ass, nice legs and big boobs invited me inside.

On the left were two smaller bars, where a horde of Thais were dancing on poles trying to extort as much money as possible from the wallets of four old farangs. I ignored all three places and continued up the escalator to the third floor. I smiled like a madman as two older, fat ladyboys tried to drag me into their bar. I retreated tactically and ended up in a bar ran by two sisters.

For the next few hours, I did something that I had only before seen in the movies. I spent almost 3000 baht on drinks for myself and the girls and bored them to death with the story of my toxic relationship with Piam. The younger and better-looking sister spoken fluent English and offered me a quick game of pool to help me forget my troubles. She moved in a way that would grab the attention of all the men in Krabi. She touched me, hugged me and delicately kissed me every now and then. I was too drunk to do anything tonight, but I still wanted her to come back to the hotel with me. The girl helped me not lose face completely, saying a polite “no”, explaining that she had to drive her brother to the bus station in the morning as he was going to Bangkok.

After the bar was closed, I began the walk back to the hotel. The bars were closed and people quickly disappeared from the street and I could hear my own footsteps. Suddenly the quiet air was punched by the sound of an engine on an old motorbike – Hey! - the driver shouted, slammed the brakes, u-turned and stopped the scooter almost parking in my ass. Under the helmet, I noticed the head of an older, ugly Thai woman, who could well have been a transvestite.

-Do you want bum-bum?
-No
-Why not?
-Because no.
-You don’t like me?
-I told you that I don’t want bum-bum.
-Why you no want? Very cheap.
-I don’t want because I’m tired.
-No problem. You lie and relax and bum-bum you. 1000 baht.
-No, thank you.
-But why you no want bum-bum? You no like me?

I continued walking without saying a word, ignoring the bad words being spat at me from the mouth of my potential, future, but unwanted lover. I fell asleep in my clothes happy that Lilly, who had beaten me at pool, was not interested in playing another game with me in the bedroom.

I woke up late and spent the rest of the day walking aimlessly around Ao Nang and swimming in the sea. A huge hangover and the vision of my impending return to Bangkok, discouraged me from exploring the area any further. In the evening, I went to Lily’s bar again. In huge part, I had a déjà vu. The drinks bill came almost to 3000 baht, Lily showed me how sexy she was, and good at the game she was, at the pool table. Today’s visit had not been preceded by two buckets of vodka, so I was in a much better shape than the night before.

Fifteen minutes before the bar closed, I arranged to meet Lily in front of the McDonald’s near the beach. The girl didn’t want anybody to see us together. I waited in front of the fast-food place for half hour, gradually losing hope that my bartender would not turn up at all. But then she appeared after a while on an expensive looking motorbike. My hotel was five minutes away. Given that she had no helmets and we were both quite drunk, the chances of an accident were quite high. I sat behind the girl and held onto her as she started the engine and drove energetically towards the hotel. We stopped at the reception, where the lights had been turned off a long time ago.

-So, I’m going home. - Lilly said.
-Come on, I thought you were coming with me.
-I don’t know what my neighbours will say if I don’t come back for the night.
-And why would you care what other people think about you?
-It’s complicated.
-Come for a while at least. Please.

I led the girl to my suite. I sat her down on the bed, hugged kissed and laid her down slowly. She was mine. Her tight, sexy body – for which her gym-treated ass was the highlight – quickly made me ready for action. A combination of tiredness, alcohol and the new experience in the form of anal sex, meant that I was not able to cum. Lily’s second hole was dry and extremely tight. The sight of pain on her face and uncontrolled farts, meant that my penis soon lost interest. Lilly fell asleep in my arms as I thought that anal sex was not as cool as porn made it seem. I eventually fell asleep.

On the next day I informed Piam that I would be back the following evening. She didn’t reply. I caught a night bus to Bangkok, which arrived at the terminal in the western part of town before sunrise. I reached home by taxi shortly after six in the morning. The apartment was empty, clean and quiet. Apple was not in her room and I thought for a while that the girls had moved out. I entered our bedroom to find Piam asleep, fully covered by the duvet in a room where the temperature was below 70 degrees F. She wore a sexy outfit that I had bought her for Valentine’s Day. She didn’t want to wear it, claiming that it was not right in her culture. I took a shower and slid in beside her under the duvet. I hugged my toxic girlfriend. She moved towards me, opened her eyes and kissed me on the lips.
-Fuck me... - she whispered...
