RE: Dieng plateau - recommended site to visit in Java for nature lovers

in #travel4 years ago

Wow, that´s a very interesting place, thank you for showing us around. I think there is something very special about places with strong volcanic and geothermal activities. I visited such a place too, just a few months ago. The place is called Furnas Lake and it´s located on the Azores Islands.

I would love to visit the Dieng Plateau too one day :) In terms of natural beauty, your country has a lot to offer for sure. Great post with great shots.

Thank you for the referral link, I agree with you. They are all fascinating and we can even use their abundant of energy potential to produce electricity etc. It's renewable energy and Indonesia has a lot.
We also have that kind of project in Dieng, but I think the government could actually invest more in this aspect.
Btw we also visited the similar landscape when we were in Lanzarote.

Using the energy of places like this sounds like a great idea. I have never actually thought it about it this way...

Oh yeah, the Canaries are very similar to the Azores in some ways, they are both of volcanic origin and not so far apart after all :) I think the biggest difference is actually the absence of mass tourism on the Azores but this might change soon, unfortunately...

Yes, it's like two side of a medallion. Tourists bring money to the inhabitants but also cause many problems, especially trash problems.
Btw...Geothermal energy has been used at least for heating purpose since ancient times. In modern times we can also use it to produce electricity. So it is a good option for countries that has a lot of volcanoes / lie on the tectonic plates, like Indonesia or Iceland for example.
You can read a bit about it here:

Thanks for the link, I will check it out :)
