Standing guard on top of roofs or at home or shop entrances these little lion-dog creatures keep evil spirits out and good ones in. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors and I find them to be just beautiful. They are really everywhere in Okinawa, so we went out to find the most colorful ones. I very much like this one. There are many stories about their origin, it’s supposed they were brought in from the Chinese culture. Have you ever been to Okinawa? For me it’s a hidden gem and one of my favorite places.
