A few weeks ago when I was in Moscow I started jogging again to get back into shape, and what better way is there to recover from a morning run than to enjoy a walk by the river? Only one metro station from our home In the south-western part of Moscow is the picturesque Luzhnetskaya embankment. It is part of an extensive green zone, that also encompasses Vorobyovy Gory Nature Reserve which features Gorky Park, Sparow Hills, Moscow State University, and one of the seven Stalinist skyscrapers. The Metro station 'Vorobyovy Gory' is located 4 miles from the Kremlin, and is one of two stations closest serving the location of the World Cup Final - Luzhniki Stadium.
It's the biggest football stadium in Russia, and has hosted an Olympic Games and a UEFA Champions League Final. Unfortunately, Spartak Moscow have relocated to their own stadium so I've yet to attend a match inside of the Luzhniki. However, I absolutely love the grounds and it still looks remarkable considering it was originally built in the 1950's.
Nice photo! Keep it going!
