I use to have garter snakes as pets as a kid :D we had 1.5 acres and a creek and woods behind our house. I never got bit. I kept them in a glass milk bottle with grass and stuff. I let them out to play 2 seconds after I put them in their new home. They were very fast and always got away! loll boy those were great times growing up spending the day in the woods.
