We went to Rome many years ago, but I expect it has not changed much. It's amazing how much ancient history they have scattered around. We did the main sights. I remember it poured with rain and we got pestered by beggars. Oh, and the traffic is terrible.
I guess all that is still true, quite a lot of beggars and the traffic is hard to get used to, but the only time we where in real danger was a time where we crossed the street when there was a green light. it didnt rain though, at least not until sunday morning and we only had to walk 5 meters to the waiting taxi so that was ok. The sight are still the same i guess, and the city still feels a bit like a storagespace for historic architecture.
