So who is @stowaway and why the crazy name?
Pretty simple really...I have been a Steemian in a different guise for quite some time (all will be revealed soon enough) and when reading and curating amazing posts, I discovered a niche that I am pretty passionate about...Travel. I like to read the experiences of explorers, travellers and those rugged individuals who have upped sticks, sold the house, ditched the escalating utility bills and erroneous costs that hammer them, and hit the road.
But those posts were hidden in my feed and so here I am with a dedicated account that is gonna be solely for the purpose of livin' the travel-dream...Consider it a window on the world a one way ticket to uhhmm...Anywhere! It is a way for those of us who enjoy the idea of experiencing far-away places without needing to risk bankruptcy to travel there.
Now I wanna share those awesome posts that take us to far-off places with the Steemiverse, why? That too is simple...When I check out the pictures, descriptions and experiences of those who like to get around I am able to live vicariously through their travels almost like an...uhhm...
Stowaway...I guess.
Much of this idea was inspired by a new account by a truly amazing community minded Steemian who many of you know in a different guise his name is @inomad I was so inspired by his plan that is actually coming together right now. The grand plan? This dude rocks...He is leaving it all behind and hitting the road with his trusty guitar and taking his amazing music to places he would otherwise not get to visit. Look out highways and byways 😁
His music? Well as an insanely talented artist with a voice that I'd describe as a combination of chocolate and gravel in just the right measure, many of you will have heard him perform on the blockchain and already be very familiar with him...I highly, highly recommend giving this amazing dude a follow and checking out his original profile also...You may very well be super-impressed and happy to stumble across his work. I am gonna maintain the illusion and mystique and not reveal his secret identity to be @thebugiq If you're not following him already then you are missing out. Oh before I forget, hint, without following him, you may never learn about the upcoming Steempets craze!
If I did not mention the amazing Snek-Shaped encouragement and support I received from @poeticsnake the loveliest, Crazy dutch-Lady most wonderful person I have met so far on the blockchain I would kick myself. Happily I was lucky enough to find her truly supportive, friendly You Got Snekked community on Discord and I loved it so much, I made a home there (Just don't tell her...I'm a stowaway there too!) How best to explain her to you...
If you were hungry she would send you her last food!
I have never been able to travel as much as I would like due to work and family commitments and frankly because I simply have too much month left at the end of the money. But when I lose myself in the travel journals and blogs of others...I can metaphorically climb in to their backpack, suitcase or RV and with just a little imagination and a wi-fi connection, I can be there too.
Be it a beach, mountain, valley or tropical lagoon surrounded by lazy swaying palm trees, many cool Steemians with wanderlust take me away with them, even though they may not even notice I'm there...Yup! @stowaway it is, the name just works.
Do not hesitate to tag me in your travel posts if you think I may like them...I actively encourage it. We wanna give those people who love to travel without leaving home an opportunity to be there too! The extra exposure may just grab you that coveted @curie or @ocd-resteem attention that has the potential to get you noticed fast.
So if you are a traveller, nomad or just someone who likes to jump up and travel anytime life makes you a little too comfortable, keep an eye out...You never know when you might just have a stowaway.
