RE: WHAT IS OUR MORNING ROUTINE | AND WHY YOU MIGHT WANT TO HAVE ONE AS WELL

in #travel7 years ago

hahah sounds like our old morning routine :D yea, it's not easy to start a morning routine, but we are trying. Omg that suck that Sam lost his wallet. It's such a headache to lose any documents when abroad! We've lost few credit cards so far. ID would be a pain! lol

Sort:

Yes it is a pain, but we are more worried about the ID and driver's license as they can be sold to let's say a foreigner (as Sam has a foreign name) who wants to stay in Thailand, but doesn't want to do a visa run. They could have my card for another four years! Just change the photo and that's all. There's no official way of cancelling, but the office said they can't use it as they have issued a new one and it's on the system. Maybe, but we doubt a police officer would check the system, they will just look at the card and wave them off.

Same with the driver's license - sell it to a person who has been banned from driving. Then Sam is at risk of receiving unwanted points or worst being banned from driving through his old license. That license will need to be renewed in four years too! So, anything can happen. Again, the office reassured that the other one is not valid anymore...

The rest is fine, one debit card (cancelled now), cash of up to 1,500 baht (€45-50) and two transport cards (BTS and MRT with joint credit of up to 500 baht).

Maybe we're overthinking this as would a taxi driver or passenger who found it, go through all that trouble? They would take the cash, transport cards and try the debit card. Annoying, but not the end of the world stuff!
