‘THE BEST WINES ARE THE WINES WE DRINK WITH FRIENDS’
Over the weekend I celebrated my gorgeous house mates and friend birthday with her friends down at the Mornington Peninsular.
With a hangover, waking up at 7:30 am knowing I had a full 2 days of celebrations wasn’t so bad. After champagne and croissants for a 9am breakfast we piled into 2 cars, towards our first destination, our AirBnB.
Next stop Vineyard number 1 of the day. All dressed up in the theme of black and white we looked the part for the first vineyard, Port Phillip Estate. For those who have had the pleasure of going there, comment below! I want to hear your thoughts!
We were lucky enough to enjoy a 3 course lunch and 6 bottles of wine between the 9 of us. I chose the arancini ball for a side dish, the sliced beef with Parmesan for entree and the most beautiful chicken, avocado and corn for mains.
Onto the next Vineyard, we venture 10 minutes down the road towards a private location, Quealy Winemakers. Here the sun decided to come out and brighten our day. We were shown the back rooms and the efforts into making a wine.
Surrounded by beautiful flowers, plants blooming with fruits and vegetables and some local animals (it would be strange not to see chickens roaming around), we decided to take a few snaps in the sunlight after several tastings of different wines. I couldn't resist and bought two of my favourites, a sparkling and a sweet white named Pobblebonk. (I couldn't say no to that name haha!)
Climbing into our Uber, heading back to the Airbnb we were all very happy for a swim in the local beach waters and continue the celebrations back in civilization. Watching the sunset in the chilly waters surrounded by friends and warming up at the cozy house, letting the night take us away all with smiles on our faces, it was a weekend to not forget.
