Coliseum is 1945 years old, exactly. Its construction was started by Vespasian Flavio in 72 AD. And inaugurated by Tito in the 80 AD, with further changes made during the empire of Flavio Domiziano. The building forms an oval of 527 m of perimeter, with axes measuring 187.5 and 156.5 meter. The arena inside measures 86 × 54 meter, with an area of 3,357 m². The current height reaches 48.5 m, but originally reached 52 m. The structure expresses clearly the Roman architectural and constructive conceptions of the First Imperial Age, based on the curved and enveloping lines offered by the oval plant and the complexity of the construction systems. Bows and times are chained together in a tight structural relationship. Near the Coliseum there is the Ludus Magnus, where the Gladiator was training. It's very beautiful visit all imperial area. I lived a lot of years in Rome and now I live outside Rome, but so close. I know every part of Rome. Thanks for your visit.
