Street Photography, people in Ho Chi Minh City

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Today I'd like to share some street photography of Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnamese are an interesting bunch of people. What do I mean by this? They chill out and sip Vietnamese coffee at street corners but they also don't stop for red light with their scooters. Maybe they're all rushing for the next peaceful moment.

Before my trip to Vietnam, I heard a lot of people complaining about scammers targeting tourists. For examples, taxi drivers take detour to make a little extra money and street vendors double the price for tourists. We definitely have our fair share of paying unreasonable price.

On the last day of our trip, I decided to get custom tailored suits made. I googled a shop that can deliver a finished product in 24 hours. First fitting, second fitting, final fitting, all done in 24 hours. We picked up the final products before heading to the airport. Half way to the airport, my girlfriend found out that she left her phone at the shop. The shop owner offered to ride her scooter to the airport and give us the phone. Ultimately, we decided to have our driver drove back to the shop, but we're still really appreciated the shop owner's offer.

We paid the taxi fare in advanced. The driver didn't charge us extra for the extra miles. Thanks to them, we got to the airport on time.

Its an amazing city isn't it. I've been twice about 15 years apart - the change was stunning! from dirt roads and bikes to paved streets and SUVs. it was crazy!
