Many people come to visit Japan now,so I try to inform you HOW-TO enjoy Travel JAPAN.
I'm Japanese and English is not my mother language, but I try to my Best !!
My First post is How to enjoy travel with TRAIN in Japan. (Let's go travel with EKIBEN JAPAN #1 )
I keep running small Hostel in Nikko Japan, 2 hours train from Tokyo.
Some of the guest confused about Different culture of JAPAN.
I want to tell you Hint of Travel Happy in JAPAN.

〇 Many Local small city of JAPAN have NO place to enjoy NIGHT ENTERTAINMANT.
Ofcource Big city like Tokyo,OSAKA, there is many clubs,Bars, 24-hours open restaurants,almost everything you want.
Local small town have almost nothing to do in the NIGHT after dinner !!
ONSEN is a special night life.of the JAPAN.
〇 ONSEN (Natural hot spring) is One of the Entertainment
If you like ONSEN,you can travel more Happy.
Every day Guest of my Hostel ask me like this.
Q "What is ONSEN?"
Q "Do we need Swimsuit?"
Q "Can we enjoy together with my girlfriend?"
Q "How long will we stay ONSEN?"
Q "How much? "
Q "Can I enter ONSEN with TATOO?"
〇 What is ONSEN ?
The groundwater heated up by the geotherm gushes naturally or bowling up Artificially from over 1500M depth.
Famous ONSEN town has a long history over 1000y in japan,like HAKONE,BEPPU,ATAMI,,,
Because onsen have a power to cure back pain,nee pain,skin toruble,etc with Rich mineral.
Now we can bowling over 1000M depth to pump up Natural hot water easy.
So every city has a ONSEN now.
〇 Price
Public 300yen～1000yen/person. (Man and Women separeted)
Private onsen for family or couple 2000yen～3000yen / hour
〇 Entrance
Men's bath rooms (男＝MAN)
Lady's bath rooms (女＝LADY)
Dark color like Blue,Green curtains means for MAN.
Red ,Brown,Pink curtains means for Lady.
Also When you go to toilet,there is a indication blue=MAN Red=Lady in JAPAN.
Please go to Toilet before take off your cloth.
〇Change room
Please take off all the clothes. you can't put Swimsuit in ONSEN.
Only one thing you can bring is small towel.
〇Manners
Step into the bathroom slowly,because sometimes floor is easy to slip.
Most important Manner is RINSE OR WASH YOUR BODY FIRST BEFORE soak in the bath.
Many people takes same hot water,so please keeps water clean for another guest.
If you wash your body with soap,you need rinse all the the Bubble before soak in the bath again.
Most of the ONSEN has indoor and outside bath,
Please enjoy both indoor and outside bath in the fresh air.
Fresh air keep down the the The temperature of your body.
Don't makes your body too hot,It will makes dizzy.
When you finish to enjoy ONSEN, please wiped up your body by towel before going out to the change room.
〇 Beer
Please don't forget to take BEER or cold water after ONSEN !!
It will takes you to HEAVEN.
ONSEN is a one of the most important culture of JAPAN.
If you can find out happiness of ONSEN,you can travel happy Ten times more.!!
#Sometimes people with tattoo are not allowed in ONSEN. But Many of ONSEN is welcome Foreigners with Fashion TATOO.
Please ask before going to ONSEN.
