When I lived out there, for some reason I never quite made it to Nagano. Not for any particular reason, though. I had both my single forays into snowboarding and then skiing in Niigata, a little further North.
It was a great experience and you can't beat the onsen.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's an amazing place. I'd go back but have a significant tax debt out there so won't in this lifetime.
Hopefully you'll sort that out and go back!
