Introduction

Hi everyone it's @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #traveldigest. We've had some cracking weather in the UK this week, going up to 36 degrees which is quite a record for us. I spent a few days in London, like a mini holiday during covid which is very nice. Hope things are well in your part of the world. And if you are travelling, don't forget to share your travels with Pinmapple by posting from our community https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/created, and most important of all, stay safe!!

🥇 The historic caves of Matala where the hippies lived in the 60's by @zkalemiss

The caves remained uninhabited until the 1970s where hippies discovered the area and settled there as they found a place where they could express themselves freely, create and fall in love. The feeling of freedom, the beautiful beach, the hospitable bay and the clear blue waters created the ideal scenery for them. They lived there in small groups (couples, even families) as primitive, without comforts. Although most of them had a great education and enviable knowledge, they did not want to have any contact with the miserable, boring, consuming lifestyle.

🥈 One day in Da Nang: Marble Mountain, Nguyen Coffee, and Dragon Bridge by @helgalubevi

Da Nang is the two-in-one kind of city. The beachside is completely different from the riverside. And who connects those two different worlds are Da Nang's bridges. The Dragon Bridge is one of the most famous bridges and a postcard in the city. But that's not just because of its exotic design... Over the weekends, the dragon sets fire, really!

🥉 The Day I Got Lost in the Clouds - Discovering Sajek Valley! by @pitboy

So one morning I saw the serious sky just like today and hurried out for Sajek. At the end of about 3 hours journey from Chittagong, we reached to Khagrachari, a small city on the Chittagong Hill Tracts. We visited various caves, Risang Waterfall and Lake in Khagrachari. Khagrachhari is one of the most beautiful and hilly districts of Bangladesh. I will tell the story of Khagrachari another day.
