Introduction
Hi everyone, @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. We have some very interesting Pinmapple featured posts for you today. Two of them are animal related, but from two very different angles, one from Nepal and another from New Zealand. And our third Pinmapple featured post takes us to the beautiful Tenerife island in Spain. Enjoy!
All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple, @blocktrades, @theycallmedan and the curation trail. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.
Our winners today 🍍
🥇 Elephant Festival, Nepal by @suzn.poudel
The elephants are pushed and pulled on the very close proximity of each other battling for the ball-hit from the player while the mahouts also aggressively drive the elephant. While the player swings the mallet, it usually strikes on the trunk or body of the elephants. The players and mahouts are so driven for the victory that a pointed stick is jabbed behind the elephant’s head so as to frustrate the elephant and make the “game” aggressive as possible.

🥈 Rottnest Island, Western Australia, Travel- #61 by @vegoutt-travel
When I travel, I love to take my time and really soak in the atmosphere of a place. I am usually up at first light and out all day. I am not into the drinking and nightclubbing scene so I couldn't tell you what cities are good for it. I booked the first ferry over to Rottnest and the last ferry coming back. This ensured that I spent the maximum amount of time exploring the island. Cars are not allowed on the island which I think is pretty great, I hired a bicycle. I do have to warn you, the island is full of hills, some very steep.

🥉 ???? Spain. Canary Islands. Tenerife: Part 3 by @sharker
There are no such large beaches as in Los Cristianos, but the waves are bigger, more powerful. We stayed at this place, probably for an hour. It seems that I can look at such a spectacle endlessly. And if there were no specific plans to go further, then we would have stayed there longer — we climbed the top of those rocks so that splashes periodically flew. A mesmerizing sight and feeling.
