RE: Introducing TravelFeed Beta

in #travelfeed5 years ago

We had a steem travel site before ya know, it was on https://stateofthedapps.com never know what happened to it

sadly no one ever uses these things, very few have retained users like steemmonsters and other dapps on the list above but heres the steem only list https://www.stateofthedapps.com/rankings/platform/steem

so yeah im glad tos ee Ntopax higher up on the list its a great art site, Dtube has a lasting user base, this list is kidna boring post front ends liek partiko, busy, those are cheating :D the NEXT page gets interesting

here we see projects liek Dclick which could be built into steemplus or @steempeak and let users place ads in their posts automatically

@vimm.tv and @3speak are also being used routinely i know many peopel now using vimm like they were using Dlive before dlive dropped steem, like @dirapa who is using vimm all the time, make sme want to start streamning actually.....

@dsound is still up by @prc and thats amazing im impressed its even still up but it desperately needs an update ALTHOUGh its working RELALy fast at the moment :D BUT Dsound just needs comments liek Soundcloud has! or embeddeable posts i dunno.... haha some cool songs on there tho

but yeah man Travelfeed here i found it TRIP-steem @tripsteem @trip-steem
https://www.stateofthedapps.com/dapps/trips-teem

what ever happened to Trip Steem? https://en.tripsteem.com/

There aren't enough users on STEEM right now to keep all of these apps and projects active as we have seen with many that have faded out of existence. What we will have to see going forward is the likes of sportstalk and travelfeed onboarding their own community and building from there. It's obviously great to have STEEM as a base to get projects started and people interested in these subjects but we will need to see some of these projects stand on their own two feet if they are to suceed.

The way that tribes are being set up makes me think that if we can create a couple of successful ones that it will form the blueprint for new groups to start their own tribe and see how it can be done. It will just take a while to get the process simplified and tightened up but I like the vision behind it.

Be a travelfeed users foremost and discover the rest of STEEM through it rather than the other way around.

We are aware of tripsteem, in fact we had several posts submitted to TravelFeed through tripsteem. It is always great to see when people are working on tools for the Steem travel community.

Their website seems offline now, but we usually see a post submitted through them to TravelFeed every few days. You would have to ask them what is happening to their project, there seem to have been no major developments since last year. Tripsteem doesn't seem to have any community outside Korea, while we have been building TravelFeed as Steem's largest travellers' community for the past 1.5 years. Dapps that "noone uses" are usually the ones who have failed to build a community.

The numbers on stateofthedapps are based on steemapps.com, which currently does not count TravelFeed users at all. We have reached out to @therealwolf who develops/manages Steemapps more than once to fix this, but never heard back, not great for a consensus witness. Hopefully there will be a Steem foundation eventually to manage projects like Steemapps.
