This is a bird-blog, it really is, but please bare with me, while i take you on this great journey in Barcelona, Spain. We had all day when we left the cruise ship MSC SEAVIEW and decided to try and see what was possible in the centre, due to the political riots it’s was a bit of a risk with the kids. But it was great, no strikes or danser, we had beautiful warm weather and decided to go and have a coffee. We went to a beautiful square and had coffee and cake next to a nice old fountain. The palmares and the cafés and restaurants on the square made it a great place to have coffe and enjoy the sun.
When we walked across to that great cafe to have all of the above, we saw these cuties. They apparently live in the large palm trees on the square. And sit on the fountain letting their pictures taken by tourists. And they were washing, singing, kissing, walking, fighting for the best water Barth place and watching all of us making these pictures.
I believe that these are Green Collared Parakeets (Psittacula krameri) is a parrot-like species from tropical Africa and South Asia, once brought to Europe as an aviary bird. Over the years, a number of these birds have escaped or have been released. They appeared to be well grounded in Western Europe, were able to multiply to tens of thousands of specimens and have now established themselves as exotic species. You might have seen them at your country if you re living in Europe. The ring parakeet is a striking green-colored, fairly large bird with a long, pointed tail and a red beak. The total length is approximately 42 centimeters. He has a very striking, loud call. There are 4 subspecies that mainly differ in length of the mouth and of the body. The males are distinguished by a band that is pink around the neck and black at the throat. The middle tail feathers have a bluish appearance. With the female the band is unclear, juveniles are more yellow and have an unclear or even no band. I searched this up in Wikipedia but I might be wrong with this info, so if that is please let me know what kind of bird it is.
The fact that the birds are everywhere on the Rambla and in the areas around gave me this idea, Offcourse there were seagulls near the beginning of the Rambla too and in the harbour bit i Will use those next week, gotta be prepared for my fridays :)

Look at these beauties! I want some to come to my feeder, but they probably would not the snow and cold winter temps at my house.
Tip! What a fun #featheredfriday post!
They are apparently here in Europe because of the mild climate
They definitely would not like Wisconsin!

Aw, those really are cute little birds. What caught my eye, though, was the menu for "Ugly Cakes" and call the cake names were in English! LOL! I found that funny.
And I had the ugly cheesecake and it was soooooo good
Beautiful birds the parakeets, love the green colour and didn't realise that about them. Saw a few when I was out in Australia and New Zealand earlier in the year so interesting to know that part of the world is where they originate from.
Thanks for taking us on a walk with you
Great photography you got skills.
Green birds are so beautiful! In our country there are a lot of gray birds ... and there is nothing to admire)))
Everything looks very tasty!
What wonderful pictures! They made me smile to see those colorful parakeets playing in the water! Thanks for sharing!
