Valea Cetăți cave in Romania

Romania a beautiful country with great places to visit...
Being an one trip to Rasnov Fortress, I found out that at a fairly small distance, 1.5 km, there is a beautiful cave, Fortress Valley Cave.
So I decided to go there. I left the car in the parking lot of Rasnov Fortress and I begin walking.
In front to the wood road that’s bring us to the cave is also a small parking, next time I will know this, and park there. From this place we can decide to walk almost 10 minuets or take for only 1€ the car that bring us to the cave.
The cave is located on the vest side of the Postavarul massif, we meet this place by going on DN 1E in the direction of Brasov - until the confluence with Valea Fundata.
So we are here and until we wait to enter in the cave, we can enjoy the tyrolean with only 2 € a turn of about 150 m,also on the way back we can make the entire descent route on the Tyrollean, but it is a long way down,we have left the brave to do this ,and I preferred to walk on the beautiful road in the forest.
And now return to the cave, the price for the tickets are 3€ for children and 4€ for adults. And the cave program is from Monday to Sunday during summer started on 1 May to 30 September from 10:00 to 20:00 , and for the cold period by 1 of October to 30 April on 10:00 and 18:00.

There are also many concerts here, the ticket price for this concert in the cave being 5 € for children and 7 € for adults.
So every Saturday, starting at 18:00 in this cave, we can listen to classical music concerts with different repertoires each week, and the number of people who can attend these concerts is 100.

In the year 1949 the cave was opened for the first time, it all began with a provoked hydraulic explosion, which removed the stuffing that closed it, forming a great flood on the Fundata valley.
image
The cave is dug in a limestone massive of Jurassic type being crossed by a network of diaclase and cracks, it comprises three main places, namely, the gallery that descends from Poienița Dracului which is the upper entrance, another room is the Great Hall and the 3 one is the galleria that opens in the Fundata Valley, this being the lower or the main entrance.
image
Through the entrance of Poienita Dracului (Potion of the Devil) there is arranged the route dedicated to the speotourism lovers. But this route can be traveled only with a specialized attendant and equipment, on this route we encounter a saloon in which the water course appears, and further we can choose between two galleries that after the distance of about 45m you meet. After you go 170 m through this narrow gallery, enter straight into the Great Hall of the cave, here you can choose another visit, and with the tourist guide there, you will find interesting things.
image
The cave route is actually around the Great Hall, where you can still see the vandalistic traces made before the cave fittings, these being some inscriptions and the smoked walls.
image
Although the interior of the cave was once full of bats, at the moment there is one species, namely the big bat with horseshoe, which unfortunately I could not notice.
image
In the cave the temperature is quite low and as the visit here lasts between 20-30min a suitable clothing is recommended. The beautiful scenery of the cave offers us, besides columns, stalagmites and stalactites, and some wonderful gurus.
image
In order not to change the temperature of the cave by visitors, it has a led illumination ,a unique cold lighting system, that turns off when dont feel moving in the cave, leaving in a deep darkness where everything you can hear is the drops of water that slowly fall, transmitting yourself in a suspense movie.
image
The ceiling of the cave is decorated with larger or smaller stalactites, and there are also limestone leaks like mussels or other amazing forms.
image
This horse's landscape was made inside the cave on its active walls, by one of the first cavers entering this area.
Having several openings, the cave has a dynamic character with some intense air currents, probably due to the water flow passing through the cave. This is a relatively cold and humid .This cave was declared a protected natural area, this cave was protected by the law because it is still active and the processes of formation of the internal structures are continuous.
image
This is an amazing place to visit , is one of the places where it is worth to go and discover the wonderful spectacle offered by Mother Nature in her play with water and lime.
image
The water in this cave varies depending on the season, but a certain amount of water is also due to the phenomenon of condensation at the contact of the air with the walls of the cave.
image
And it's time we headed for the exit, leaving with a pleasant visual memory and a lecture learned because our guide brought us deep into the story of this cave.
image
Once you get out of the cave, I follow the road to the exit of the forest, on the nicely appointed edges to get down without the car.

Here we stop a little to take some pictures and we find out something about the animals that are found in these places.Around this cave are encountered various mammalian species, including the gray wolf, the brown bear, the linx, lizards and dry salamander, and much more.
image
So a little frightened by the previously conversation about animals with one of the cave guides who descended with us because he had finished his program, we rushed to the car I left in the parking lot, although he told us that because of the noise generated by the large mass of tourists these animals do not appear in this place,we stopped in the small car park at a souvenir stand to buy something, after which we continued our journey to the car.
It was a beautiful experience with my adorable boy who, although delighted by the cave, was a bit angry that he did not meet the bear, which I honestly prefer to see only in pictures :)

Thank you all for stopping by and checking out my blog. You are awesome.
