Fascinating to think the river was part of the barricade between the two countries in bygone days. Epic buildings on both sides, solid to defend each nation.
Modern technology arrives, simply putting in a bridge to allow passage (oh with a guard on each end and passport control).
Bridging the gap but not the divide since different languages is still a reality, along with what is taught through families down the ages. Interesting visit and photography of places I would have loved to see.
The castles are actually amazing! Different types of buildings.
It is alot easier these days than it would have been in the past :)
