Woodland photos. Boxer Dogs. I want a fence

in #treeslast year (edited)

Hi

Here is a photo I took on an early morning. Its an ancient woodland in the UK.

This section is mainly Japanese Larch. Planted as a crop in 1946 for Mining pit props after WW2. All the older anceint trees had been cut down for timber in WW2. The crop is now mature and actually damaging the soil as the larch needles turn the soil acidic over time.

Here are our two dogs enjoying a walk in the wood.

We are removing the larch and have used it for fire wood in the past. Apparently larch doesnt rot so we made some rustic fence posts with it.
