Most Southern Situated Coffee Tree Estate KwaZulu-Natal South Africa

in #treetuesday6 years ago

Beaver Creek Coffee Estate and Roastery situated inland of Port Edward on the KwaZulu-Natal Eastern Coast of South Africa.

Coffee, just the place to shop for fresh local grown coffee beans, roasted to tasty blends on the world's most southern coffee estate in the seaside town of Port Edward.

A Family run business started with 4 trees in 1984, currently able to swank off around 60k trees, now that is some coffee planted down there, coming highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, not to be missed!

Coffee Trees Plantation

Scrumptious meals on offer for lunches to wash down with home made coffee blends, or sink your teeth into a variety of tasty treats on offer that go well with coffee.

Coffee Tree Flowers and Leaves

Daily tours are taken around the farm to see the full process around midday, with lovely views from the plantation all the way down to the sea. Making it an enjoyable days outing, with a shop onsite to purchase Beaver Creek Coffee, blended Arabica coffee or local wares on offer.

What better way to spend a wet, windy day on the coast, sneak inland a few miles, enjoy the great company and views from this Estate, hope to be visiting there soon again!

I used to drink 5 or 6 big ones before late afternoon, with sugar and milk. Now I drink 1 in the morning, black, no sugar, decaffeinated. It starts the engine.
Greetings from Kryptonia!

Definitely one way to kick start the day, I try not to have more than two cups per day then drink lots of water in our hot climate.

nice post my friends

From Your words it seems like a nice place to visit. Nice Coffee early in the morning will refresh all my organs. So I always used to have it.

Splendid views and interesting to learn about coffee process, coffee was exceptionally good. Never start the day with a least 2 cups....

I also need 2 cups to get me going!

Coffee is great, I enjoy the taste and coffee chocolates are my favourite :)

Never had coffee chocolates, will have to look out for that @ianstevenson

Oh wow what interesting find @joanstewart. I had no idea that such a place existed here by us.

I never knew about this coffee farm prior to visiting the area, our farmers are really trying a variety of things lately.

@joanstewart A great post Lady Joan and if one cup of coffee commits one to 40 years of friendship, then I wonder what 10 or 20 cups a day would commit one to?

Lifetime and beyond friendship Stephen....

Well there you go! We are lifetime and beyond friends! Blessings!

My favorite drink is coffee, a cup of coffee in the morning every day.

Kick start every day with at least 2 cups @ziggypepper

Love my coffee in the morning I have 2cups one sitting on the porch or patio looking at all the activity in my garden and the second with my morning meal.

Agree 2 cups to get going into the day, thereafter just drink water.

Three cups of coffee every day, while watching the sea while drinking, the sound of peace and nature in peace

That sounds like magic, a cuppa together with watching the sea, very relaxing way to start the day.

Yo tomo hasta tres cafés al día y realmente disfruto mucho de ellos, me ayuda a relajarme.

This is a beautiful part of Africa. I've grown partial to Vietnamese iced coffee, drunk to the poetic music of Trinh Cong Son. Some have said neither can be truly enjoyed without the other. Unfortunately, doing so outside of Vietnam just isn't the same as doing it there, with noises wafting in from a bustling street in the distance or right next to you, and heartbreak or elation or some other passionate sense one is bound to experience once one lands there.

On a related topic: This morning I saw an interview with a person by the name of Grant So-and-so who is behind a crowdfunding app in your neck of the globe. I was keen to find out more so that I may invest in a coffee tree, or a solar panel. If you have any intelligence on this matter, would you be so kind as to let me know any details? Thanks for writing this post - a trip down memory lane for me.

Building memories around coffee in regions a lovely way to relate to a great drink.

Sorry I have not heard of this crowdfunding app, many tech savvy people in South Africa.

Supporting people working into charities, the are two here in Steem that I know doing great work into communities, contact @papilloncharity or @reonlouw - just supporting them within Steem always goes a long way.

Hi @joanstewart - that's cool - I thought you may want to look into this and do some of your magic to spread the news - I thought it is quite interesting - The app is called Impact Farming App (Apple and Android) - Article by Maya Fischer-French in City Press, Sept 2018

@oneazania - you may be thinking of Thundafund

Great post. As you probably know I enjoy a pint mug of coffee in the morning whilst I write my Steemit and Kblog blogs :)
Coffee = Productivity (And wakes me up too.)

What would life be without a pint mug full of coffee to put some zip into a day.

In my place Tea is more popular and always have 3-5 cups every day.
I personally like to have black coffee sometimes.

Enjoy black, unsweetened rooibos tea during the day (a herbal tea produced locally).

Coming to you from @bxlphabet's account. He does not like coffee whatsoever! It was one of the things he did not like the smell of when he was a kid. I will come back from my own account to let know that I am not on his team for this matter :)

My children one prefers tea, the other seldom drinks either, just as well we are all different in tastes...

I am a coffee lover, and really like the first cup of the day. I prefer a mocha version since chocolate is my favorite thing. Here in Malaysia they drink a lot of coffee and also a lot of tea. But I find it expensive and not too much to my liking. They put margarine and artificial creamer in it! Most food is healthy here, but they went off track for the coffee.

Too much variety today, I still enjoy buying coffee beans, grinding them, then percolating fresh.

Wow I love coffee too. In our state it is cultivated like this but mostly in high altitude area.

I think that is why I was astounded to find this farm so close to the coast, always found tea and coffee plantations at higher altitude @dhanu4u

Wow awesome photographs friend..
Beautiful white flower..
Thanks for sharing with us..

It is a pretty little flower before becoming the bean.

Me gustas claro y dulce, casualmente mi padre tiene 3 plantas de café en el patio y lo preparamos en casa, buen café artesanal, id kryptonia @reyos69

Agradable tener café cultivado en casa, disfrutar y gracias por visitarnos.

I love Beaver Creek, those coffee trees produce excellent coffee! Love the proverbs you're sharing @joanstewart :)

Really a great farm with history to family holding onto a dream @lizelle

That's a wonderful dream indeed!

Whoopie that is great @fitinfun love the contests bringing people together with different stories.

I just heard about this place on the radio the other day, @joanstewart. Fascinating to have coffee grown in South Africa. I am selecting it as my daily nominated post :)

I was surprised at how close to the coast the plantation is, the area of Port Edward has some really well hidden gems in that region.

Next time we visit the area, smallest desert in the world is planned, last visit it rained.

Oh wow! thanks for that link. And to think of desert in KZN.... I will read it tomorrow.

Microclimate is fascinating. There is a little pocket near Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape, where they grow avocado pears. Only there. And they are fabulous.

This is just around the corner for me and I haven't even visited it yet. Will have to make a plan. Thanks for sharing!

It really is on your doorstep, some places we don't know are right under our noses.

Hey, we've had coffee there! Thanks for the trip down memory lane :-).

I walked out with half the shop, so many lovely coffees and goodies to buy.

I can understand that! Can't wait to go back and visit Tim's cousin there.
