Here's a few snowy tree shots from last winter's polar vortex for this #treetuesday by @old-guy-photos
Chicago has been getting quite a few polar vortexes in the past few winters. Sometimes they bring loads of snow other times they are just really clear cold cloudless days. I prefer the snow more as it tends to insulate.
This is what the colder clear days look like. The lakes freeze pretty solid.
You can even walk across them. But if you hear cracking back away slowly.
The deeper part of the lake hasn't frozen over yet in this shot.
When it snows everything is transformed. It kind of reminds me of a charcoal drawing.
The leafless trees become like fractals against the white snow filled sky.
Sepia gives these snow pictures a nice gloomy feel.
That's it for this #treetuesday i hope this year doesn't bring too many polar vortexes cause you know I'll have to go out and freeze my hands taking pictures of the trees lol.

Naked trees and snow sure makes things look cold and lonely...
Everyone else is inside enjoying hot cocoa next to the fireplace.

Rain here in Ottawa. It was over 50 F yesterday and our early snow has melted.
Yeah it got warm and rainy here too. Hopefully no more snow until Christmas.
