The mayor of Lhokseumawe Suaidi Yahya through Salahuddin Development Office in Lhokseumawe said on Saturday that the projection would absorb the large number of workers in all sectors of the industrial economy because of the growth of various industries.
He continued, during that time, the value of investments invested in a number of industrial sectors both upstream and downstream in the region reached 3.8 billion US dollars.
A number of industries that have entered the planning are oil and gas product industry, petro chemical, agro industry and port and logistics.
"A number of large industries are planned to fill the KEK Arun, with a 10-year investment value of 3.8 billion dollars, while the amount of labor absorbed over the 10-year period has reached 40 thousand people," Salahuddin said.
Called it, the reason for the development of KEK Arun well, one of them is because of the geographical conditions are very strategic, ie located in the waters of the Strait of Malacca that every day navigated by 222 ships with high tonnage.
In addition, it has a distributive path far far closer to neighboring countries, he added.
"Regionally, KEK Arun is very strategic and economic value, so that industrial products and commodities needed by other countries can be supplied easily from KEK Arun area. So these reasons that we call very easy to grow, "said Salahuddin.
