No one’s above criticism. Everybody’s able to easily criticize someone about something. This happens every day, all the time.

When you’re getting a critique, listen up, it could be for a good reason. Maybe this person is a good teacher wise, and intelligent, and they’re critiquing you from the right place of genuine caring.

However lots of people who criticize do so to feel good about themselves. It’s about them, not you. They’re projecting insecurity, fear or desire. So what can you do? Show some compassion. You don’t have to take their criticism personally. What you’re listening to is someone's shit, they're giving you shit! If they’re in a good mood, guess what? They’re going to say good things about you. If they’re in a shitty mood, guess what? They’re going to say shitty things. Remember it’s not about you, it is about them. Don’t take it personal.

Don’t take things personal is my personal mantra.

YES! Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. Don Miguel Ruiz teaches it so succinctly.
