Turkey arrests five over Qatar Hacking for sparking Gulf crisis|Ahmed Ullah

(Xinhua) News Agency, Doha, Aug. 26, according to Qatar News Agency reported on Saturday that--Turkey has arrested five individuals suspected of entering the Doha State News Agency. This is an incident that triggered the current political crisis in the Gulf region.

The attorney-general of Ali A. Benafitas, the highest legal person in Qatar, announced the arrest.

A Qatar News Agency (QNA) commented that: “Five people were arrested and they are under investigation. Qatar prosecutors are working with the Turkish authorities to deal with the case.”

It was alleged that hackers on the QNA website had hacked on May 24 and issued explosive political statements to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Hamad Thani.

These remarks touched on sensitive regional political issues such as Iran, Palestine Islamic organization Hamas, Israel and the United States.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have broken off relations with Qatar because of their relations with Iranian Shiites and support for Sunni Islamic extremist organizations.

Qatar denied the allegations and stated that Shekhtamim did not issue a statement, but the site was hacked.

Doha called on the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help conduct hacking investigations and accused the UAE of cyber attacks. The UAE has denied these claims.Capture.PNG
