RE: Non-mandatory lessons about “Sex Education“.

in #tv6 years ago

What I think is the most problematic in the series itself is the assumption that sex at the age of sixteen is necessary and obvious to everyone. Here I would argue, because I have the impression that it is a bit pushing a lot of kids into the feeling that they have something to catch up.

Maybe. It is the main topic, after all. On the other hand, I remember a scene where Otis tells someone that there is no need to hurry with these things. But I guess that it can get lost easily in the overall feeling from the series that everybody is just trying to sort out sex all the time.

Anyway, I am 30 and I had so much fun watching this. Mostly because I was just remembering my own pieces of experience, I guess :-) Dunno about other teenager TV series, I don't watch this kind of stuff that often, but it was really entertaining and refreshing somehow. I really like all the characters. There are stereotypes for sure, but they all have some kind of interesting twist to them I would say. But it probably depends on what you are expecting and what depth you want to see. I sympathized with quite a few characters, what they were like and what they had to go through. Was really enough for me, to have a good laugh and sometimes be astonished and forced to think about the situation, even reconsider some of my values I would say.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I have my favorite characters as well. As entertainment for adults its pretty good but I don't know what about young adults.
