Retro Fridays are back!
It feels like FOREVER since we last had a TRUE Retro Friday. You all voted and Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts was a strong winner at almost 40% of the vote among 4 classic titles.
Super G'nG is a side-scrolling action platformer created and published by Capcom and it was the Super Nintendo/Famicom installment in the series. I fondly remember the hours I spent grinding away at each of these sections to just pass an area. This platformer is unforgiving with very few checkpoints throughout the entirety of the world of knight Arthur as he pursues Emperor Sardius after the Demon King kidnapped the Princess. Just like previous titles, a secondary and escalated difficulty has been provided before you can finally rid the world of Emperor Sardius.
I aim to play this game on the hardest difficulty which is called Professional. Will I end up beating this in one Retro Friday? Tune in and watch the struggle bus is all I will say regarding that personal prediction.
CHARITY TOURNAMENT UPDATE :
Turtle Power Mondays were shell-shocking to say the least. The evening started off Dospostmann warming up for his appearance in the Save The Children Charity Race.
Dospostmann pulled off the upset! The video is located here. A stunningly quick display of Dospostmann's racing prowess was seen on Monday night by posting a time of 23:27 (currently the tournament's best single-run time). Dospostmann moves on to face #3 seed DarkAlexandr and looks to be a massive underdog once again. Their match will happen on Monday November 12th, 2018 at 7:30pm PST / 10:30pm EST.
I had a lot of fun being a part of the commentary side of things with last week's match-up of #8 Mannix86 vs #9 Khanster786. I was joined by legendary TMNT IV Runner Spiriax. The video can be watched here. The tournament races resume tentatively on Sunday Night November 11th.
You know when the Dream Stream is fully back is when Anime night has resumed. The newest title we are viewing is Space Dandy. SD is a 2014 Japanese comic science fiction anime. The series follows Space Dandy and his misadventures with his robot assistant QT and newly acquired felinish friend Meow. Dandy is an alien hunter searching for undiscovered rare aliens to turn in to the registry for a hefty little pay day; however, "dandiest guy in space" comes with quite a few major gut-busting drawbacks.
We enjoyed the first 5 episodes of the series and have gotten a taste for the slap-stick humor and psychedelic scenes that have you questioning the depths of space they have traveled to hunt down these aliens! They have run into a 10,000 year old alien while in search of "Phantom Ramen," to go along with temporarily being in an actual zombified state! What else is next for these companions? Next week we will go into a further discussion of Dandy and his cohorts as they travel space but first we need to stop at our favorite "brest"-raunt called Boobies.
