Hello guys Hope you are all having an awesome day.
I know, I’m a little late posting about this, but I have a really good reason. For two whole days, I was stuck in a cozy little family reunion despite the typhoon Uwan which was a blessing in disguise.
You guys remember how scary the news was, right? I was literally checking regularly the PAGASA feed, checking every single post about the path and that devastating wind speed and gustiness. Every time they said it was getting stronger and that landfall was coming although not that close to Central Luzon, my heart just dropped. I felt so uneasy and nervous and full of panic, I seriously could not sleep. It was like an anxiety attack for me.

So, to be safe, I called everyone in my family and our whole extended family and we trooped over to our parents’ safe house. It's the original house where we grew up, and even though they are gone now, that house still feels like the safest place in the world for us. It turned into an unexpected, much-needed family reunion
The crazy thing is, for us here in Pampanga, Uwan was never felt that strong. We barely even had any heavy rain which we were all thankful for. But who cares about the weather when you have your whole family together for two days? The kids were busy playing mobile games (of course), but the adults had fun too we played Bingo and were shouting numbers all afternoon and the young ones could not keep up.

And since the house is not that big, we all ended up sleeping scattered around the living room floor, just like when we were kids . Who needs a proper bed when you are having that much fun and making memories, right?

The food was the best part, though. Nothing beats classic Pinoy comfort food when you're with family! We had that perfect breakfast of Pinoy sinangag (garlic fried rice) and soft scrambled eggs —that sinangag with the little red bits was so good—plus camote (sweet potato) and all our nostalgic Pinoy favorites. It made the whole experience so much fun and so, so nostalgic. It’s a huge blessing that the storm wasn't bad for us, and instead, we got this special family time.

Thanks for letting me share this little piece of our life during the storm. I love these unplanned moments
