What Travis Kalanick should do next (open letter to Travis)

in #uber7 years ago (edited)

The cat is out of the bag or as some would say, the elephant in the room has left.

Either way Uber is moving forward and not with Travis as CEO.

I know lot of scandals have surfaced and it's not something I am defending or find acceptable. For the most part, Travis sucks. He's the typical control freak CEO hell bent on world domination. This is why we can't have nice things and I'm glad he is getting a reality check. He needs it and so does the world. CEO's are not untouchable. They are very human but act like robots with a hoarding problem. With decentralized applications on the rise, it couldn't be better timed.

Ok so what's next for the scandalous "douchebag"? (quoted from the comments section announcing his resignation on techcrunch)

Here's an idea since you have an endless amount of money, connections, time and a horribly bad reputation.

DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR PEOPLE ON THIS PLANET!

I don't mean silicon valley positive because those are bullshit problems. Silicon Valley problems are echo chamber problems that only get investors greasy.

Let your imagination go wild. Try visiting a country with $20 in your possession and see how far you get. I'll tell you one thing, you easily come up with an idea on how to help the people around you and yourself. I think you are capable of empathy again.

Seriously do the unexpected and help people. You have been in the closest of inner circles and been revealed secrets of life that 99.999% will never fathom. You tried it your way and look where it's landed you.. Success, some might say yes, to others you seem lost. Currently you have the best opportunity to do unbelievably better things. It just comes down to if that is who you are or who you want to be.

This time around you get to perfectly define who you are and what you are about. Are you going to fck that up?
