On 26.3.2018 @Jaraumoses and I met at Vision for Africa.
We talked about Uganda, Germany and what we can do to promote Steemit to the Uganga people. For both of us it is in our heart to give some people the chance to get a better live and a perspective for the future. Steemit does not only give some mined cryptocurrency to the people, it also enables to create comunities, to help each other in daily things, to create agreements, which can bee seen by everyone, transfers money without fee,...
I offered Jarau the following support (this is not fixed now, we can still change this agreements):
- Support of smartphone buyers
I offered to invest 50 € per month to people, that are going to buy a smartphone. Jarau would create the steemit-accounts and give me the names of these people. After they have bought their phone and have made their first post I can send them some money in steemdollars. For example: if there are 3 persons, I can give them roundabout each 10 STB. I don't want anything back, it is for free. One can track it here on steemit, so everyone would see, if I keep my promises. It is based on monthly promises, so I can quit (if I want) after I have paid out the last month. - We want to promote Steemit in Vision for Africa
We have already spoken to some people, i.e. the IT-Administration in VfA. Some of the people are interested. Jarau and I want to give a presentation to theese propably next week. - Sending old Smartphones from Germany to Uganda
I thought loudly about collecting old smartphones and notebooks in Germany. I would create a platform where Germans could sponsor their old smartphones to Uganda People and could follow the recipiens on steemit. So they could see, that their old smartphone/notebook is used to give a poorer person some money.
But then I've heard, that sending a parcel to Uganda costs 50€. Also I don't know if i can bring in the time and effort, so I think this keeps just a thougt. Perhaps someone in Germany feels in his heart to do that. Then please contact me. - Using a cow-bank
Jarau and I didn't spoke about it until now, this idea came later. There is the opportunity to borrow some money on for example http://kiva.org. Maybe this helps to finance the smartphone.
So theese are just some ideas to promote and support steemit. If you also have good ideas, let us see them in the comments.
(I will be offline in the next days, so please be patient for my answers)
Regards, Achim
Thanks for the commitment to help,Achim.Ee are eternally greatfull. Well done @Jaraumoses. Thanks for representing.
We shall talk more about the ideas on our next meeting next week. I am happy for the passion you have to help the Uganda community.
Hi Jarau, I'm sitting in the lodge in our lunchbreak. I hope I have time to give some impressions. It's great here, but very hot.
I have an additional idea. Perhaps it would be a good idia to invest into an advertising. For example a big paper (plakat) on the street to Kampala. Can you find out how much this is?
If it possible for you, I would still buy a steemit t-shirt (xl) I would give you 15 stb for it.
Let me look at the advertising costs and also organise the design of the t.shirt
