You are ahead of us on some things. Our sunflowers are out, but no toms yet. We went to an open gardens thing today and saw some productive veg plots. A few had fruit cages, but I have not bothered with our berries as we don't seem to lose many to birds.

You do need cages for some fruit - I am surprised more of our apricots didn't go to the birds, probably plenty more them to eat around here!
