I was just there on my own jejely (quietly) when this message pops up on my notification. I had to laugh as the number of answers coming in were becoming increasingly hilarious.
Looking at the mathematics;
A)0024
B)2044
C)2024
D)0044
This could be answered logically, grammatically or even mathematically. Either way, the person giving the answer feels he/she is right but the recipient feels he/she is wrong.
Let's digress a bit from this mathematical problem, often in life, we have an opinion about certain matters while other people do not. Do we respect their opinions or want ours to prevail? From experience, I used to be very guilty of this, I never want to lose an argument (blame it on my English teacher who coached me into a great debater). I would argue and argue with points baseless or not till you succumb and let me win. Now I know better and I'm still growing.
Respect others and their opinions, not winning an argument will not harm you or reduce your reputation (both on the blockchain and off it except you are a lawyer😂).
Back go to thisquestion, which is right? I gotta stop here before I start writing Floccinaucinihilipilification (I just learnt that word on #i-rise last night, so I may not get the correct usage, lol).

Lol, I still think 2024 is the correct answer even though the rest ain't wrong either, logically and technically
Without commas there are only two options to interpret this.
If it was "two zeros two fours" then 0044 would be a possible solution. Without the plural we either assume that the person speaking doesnt know proper grammar orit is to be literally taken as 2024.
All 4 numbers are written the same way, "two zero two four" it wouldn't be appropriate to assume one logic for one pair of number and another for the other pair. This would mean either the first number in the pair is a count or taken as a literal number so either answer is
2024 or 0044. 2044 would make no sense because you're changing the logic half way through the numbers.
Why assume that they are pairs of numbers? Your answer considers only two possible options. Another reasonable assumption is that the first number is a ciunt and others are literal i.e. the answer is: 024024. Or that the first two numbers combine together to be 20 x 24 so we write 242424242424242424242424242424242424242424. Or 222222222222222222224
But they're wrong. There is only 1 answer.
Change your title and you'll get your entry in to #comedyopenmic contest
