I am glad to inform my mate #Uloggers , #surpassinggoogle and all steemains about one thing concerning myself today, I claim to be agristeem on steemit and this is not even related to any of my name but I am going to inform you the major reason for this name.

I formed the name Agristeem myself and the major reason for the name is that I want to be steeming under agriculture. I love Agriculture too much and I will like to be showing and explaining some things I understand in agriculture to many of you especially my Co Uloggers. To start with, I will be talking about Beans, the types that exist, how to plant beans, how to harvest beans and how to cook it.

BEANS

Beans are dicotyledonous plant mostly green in color and they belong to the family Fabacease. Garden beans both Lima and snap are among the favorite vegetables of many people, some home gardeners normally plant beans and edible soya, bush, French, Wax and Italian beans. The mentioned kind of beans let us understand that there is much kind of beans. So this will lead us to the types of beans;

  • Bush beans: Bush beans are the suit kind of beans planted by small gardeners because they do not need any support; they come in yellow, green and purple.

  • Romano beans (Italian): These kinds of beans can be grown in two ways, either planted in the bush or grown as climbing beans. They can be used like fresh green beans and they can also be allowed to dry before using them. They also come in green, yellow and purple.

  • Haricot beans (French): They can be found in bush or tree climbing varieties, this kind of beans really resembles the green beans but they have flavorful and extra-slim pods. They may be eaten fresh without been cooked or cooked.

  • Pole beans: They are called pole bean because they can grow five to eight (5-8) feet tall and due to this tallness their vines need to be supported by pole. They are harvested when their pods are expanded, before the beans are visible inside.

  • Lima beans:

  • Shell beans: They are varieties that are eaten when the beans inside the pods are drops and mature, but still soft. Their pod is too tough to eat because they are shelled like peas.

  • Edible soya beans: They are also called Edamame. Edamame is a Japanese word meaning Pod in branch, these are different from those soya beans used in making feeds. They have larger seeds and they are eaten when the shells are green.

  • Dry beans: Dry beans are of many kinds and colors; they are harvested when they are dried up at the end of the season. Examples of these beans are; kidney beans, navy beans, pinto beans, black beans and lot more.

  • Green beans:

PLANTING PERIOD

Beans are usually planted from seeds, and green beans are mostly planted in the spring and summer period. It germinate within 8-10 days.

SPACING

To better describe the spacing requirements for beans all gardeners are advice to use this spacing, the depth should not exceed ½ inch and 3 feet apart from each other.

FERTILIZATION APPLICATION

As we all know that the work of fertilizer is to gear up the land nutrient in order to increase productivity, so there is an important thing you should know and this is that the pH level of beans production is about 5.8. I believe you know what its excess and inadequacy could cause.

WATERING

Every living things require water for them to sustain, so also beans require water especially during dry weather (Note; the water must not be much to cause waterlogged), they also need water during the flowering and the pod production stage.check below for the purpose of practical;

Flower occurrence: 25-35 mm water every 10 days.
Flowering – Picking stage: 25-35 mm water every 7-10 days.

HARVESTING

Harvesting of beans can be either manually or mechanically. It can be harvested during the frost or snap stage. I.e. when it is green or during the dry stage.

Green beans used for processing is usually harvested mechanically by six-row self-propelled harvesters.
Bulk handling at harvest time allows processors to maximize factory through put and control pod quality parameters. The harvester snaps off stems, leaves and pods, and loads them into a trailed field bin holding 2-3 tones. When full, the bin hydraulically tips the beans into a truck ready for delivery.
These trucks hold approximately 23 tones. Quality deteriorates rapidly after harvesting, and processing must begin as soon as possible after harvest. Long road hauls in hot weather are undesirable.

HOW TO COOK DRY BEANS

I am going to talk about how to cook dry beans using just seven to eight methods

  • Pour the beans inside a flat plate for you to see the dust and the bad ones in the beans, then remove any foreign objects you notice that are not good inside of it.
  • Rinse the beans
  • Place inside a pot.
  • Put the pot on heat. To Nigerians you are advice to use charcoal or stove because the cost of Gas is expensive.
  • Add more water as the water become drying
  • Stir the beans to prevent sticking
  • Add any sort of ingredient you wish to include
  • Once you notice that it is well cooked, you are now able to remove it out of heat.
Now you are ready to eat your beans.

Wow, I guess you are a good planter too. A great farmer can be rich, giving love to their plant is a good factor.

Not really, but I do follow my dad to farm.
But I know how it is done
