Hi Andy- how exciting, I hope you enjoy the training and it's something you fall in love with doing. I have to admit, it is something that has always called to me, and I've been considering doing a short-course later this year to get a feel for it.
Okay - a suggestion... How far is the town from you? There is a place in our town (UK) which is set up as a treatment centre and rooms- a bit like a mini-spa, and the practitioners there rent the room space. So for example, they book their clients in to meet there- perhaps on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work from there. It gives them the safety of not inviting strangers to their home for treatment, and not working in a stranger's home either. The set up and ambiance are perfect- and you slot your treatments in. Any chance this could work for you if you have something similar in your area? Or you could look at doing treatments at retreats, festivals and other events- so you are travelling to specific things with a captive audience to give treatments- but don't have to move permanently?
I really hope it works out for you.
E x
Thanks @eveningart :) Oh that's interesting that you are looking into it too!!! I hope you like it. There are a few short courses coming up for me between now and Xmas so I'm quite excited to get started :) I could look into that idea and see if there is anything close to here that would work :) Maybe I'll be lucky!!
I really hope you are and that it works out for you. It seems to be a great way to get a practise up and running without having to commit to renting your own space full-time.
There's a 2 day back, shoulders and neck one coming up in September that I've got my eye on. I'd love to do the full certificate, but my hands are a bit weak at the moment, so I figured this might be a good way to find out if I can hack the physical side of it or not! I really look forward to hear how you get on. E x
Oh good luck with that!!! There's a relaxation one in September that I'd like to do too. Yea I have some worries of how my back will hold up but I figure if I don't commit to too many a day and I get a bed that I can adjust the height I should be ok.
A friend of mine suffered with her back, but she found the training okay - just to be aware of your posture and keeping yourself comfortable and grounded and standing properly as you work. Think I might need to play with a stress ball a bit to get my hand muscles up to scratch! E x
