Unfortunately, Basir experienced it. The 76-year-old grandfather lost his life to save a chicken that fell into the well. Basir allegedly fell into a well with a depth of 12 meters and 1 meter in diameter.
This incident took place in Lapang Village, RT 5 RW 4, Cikalong Village, Cikalong Wetan District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, Saturday (1/9/2018). "It was around seven o'clock in the morning, he (Basir) wanted to take the chicken that entered the well. The chicken had survived, but the one who took it slipped down again into the well. Died in the well," said Cikalong Wetan police chief AKP Sutarman via text message .
The incident began when Basir, who worked as a digger, was about to take a chicken belonging to his brother who entered the well. He went down to the well without using safety equipment.
As he climbed toward the well that was two meters from the surface, suddenly Basir slipped. His body reentered the bottom of the well. The victim allegedly slipped due to weakness.
His son who saw the incident then immediately gave help by entering the well. However, he decided to go back up again because the situation inside the well made him overcrowded. Basir's life is not helped. He died in the well.
Rescue workers who came to the scene rushed to pick up Basir's body. "The evacuation involved Damkar who already had a special tool. At present, the victim has been buried. The family also requested that no post mortem be made with a statement," said Sutarman
Deputy Commander of the Rescue Team of the West Bandung Regency Fire Department (KBB) Iwan Lesmana said the process of appointing Basri's body involved six personnel and local residents. The process takes about 15 minutes.
"Upon arrival at the location, the Damkar KBB team immediately evacuated the victims who had been declared dead," said Iwan.
