This was a very touching piece.
" It was not until I hit rock bottom and was faced with the choice, change or die, that I decided to surrender and learn how to deal with my shit."
- this part describes what happened to me as well. I was unable to face my own fears and responsibilities in life (and still struggle from time to time). Drugs, alcohol, unhealthy relationships, destructive behaviors both mental and physical. Once I literally had nowhere else to turn I had to make that choice to say enough is enough.
I'm grateful that you decided to live instead. Thank you for sharing. I talk more about my own journey in my book 'Graduating Life with Honours'. It is on my blog if you are interested. You can also google for it too.
