RE: Spring is on its way. Time to get to work!

OMG!! You are so ridiculously close to me!! I am in the small northern fringe town surrounding the City that the normies call Edmonton, named St.Albert! I have been looking at earthships for 5 years now and my wife and I are planning to build one north of Edmonton. I have so many questions about the construction and the usage of the earthship but I only want opinion from people who truly know the process and the structure intimately. It would be absolutely amazing if you feel like fielding some of these questions, especially since you live in the same neck of the woods!!

North of Edmonton build? Where abouts?

I am open to the idea. We live 100km north of St. Albert. What kind of questions do you have? I've posted a lot about our build already here on steemit. If you look through my blog, you could find them.

We are thinking somewhere just south of Westlock maybe. Have had an eye on land prices for a while so we are just waiting for the right land to open up. Looking for 80 or so acres, and there has to be a stream on it cause I am going to run a micro-hydro turbine for power. I want to maintain a natural 20-30 acre woodlot on it also.

I am going to go back and check out your posts! My questions are more about the insulation of the floor and the grey water system. I have the earthship books with all the details in them, but I think they are more for the Taos, NM area.

I grew up just south of Pickardville. I know the area well. We did not insulate the floor, just the walls and roof. Instead of gray water systems, I built a gray water pond to grow duck weed. My blog talks about some of that. But it also talks about temperatures, mistakes and other stuff like that. Feel free to go through the blog and if you still have questions, then feel free to ask. Peace to you.

Thx so much!!
