While world markets bleed red, my investments will shower me in a sea of GREEN

in #ungrip7 years ago

Word on Wall Street is that the markets lost over $4 Trillion over the last 5 days.  The losses have also impacted cryptocurrencies as well.  If you have been following along with my blog, you will recognize that these losses are fictional constructs based on titles of ownership and have nothing to do with what is physically unfolding on this planet.

So while people are freaking out about fictional constructs, I'm left to ponder our next round of investments which return anywhere from 100% to well over 100,000% returns each year.  What kind of investment produces those kinds of returns?

SEEDS!

While many may not see it as an investment, I certainly do.  I can get lots of food and even more seeds from planting a single plant.  It grows and multiplies each year.  Some years are better, some are worse.  But if we keep the growing within the scope that we can steward, we can help the plants deal with insects, drought and most other hazards.

By building greenhouses, we can extend the growing season, reduce the risk of hail and other hazards to the plants and ensure that we can eat for another year.  If we do really well, we can then share with others as well so that they can eat too!

Prosperity for all when we return to the land!

Our Sea of Green!

These are tobacco seeds and last year we planted about this many seeds and ended up with a whole jar full, which was only about half the harvest.  I estimate that we got 20,000 times return on our original investment AND harvested a lot of tobacco which was all gravy.

So while people are in a panic, we are looking outside our window with over 2 feet of snow on the ground, starting our planting season and getting ready for spring.  What is happening in the physical realm is NOT reflected what is happening in the fictional realm.

The fictional realm is manipulated, bloated and full of lies & deceit.  While the fictional realm tries to manipulate the physical world by manipulating people to behave in specific ways, that control is diminishing as more and more people are returning to the land so that they can work on their relationship with Creator and Mother Earth directly.  No more lies.  No more deceit.

Sort:

Well, there's a story we tell here in Portugal about a man who heard of the dotcom bubble and rushed to his farm to find out his cow would still produce the same amount of milk.

...then he heard of the real estate crisis and ran to his farm to see his pigs just as fat.

It all comes down to where you invest yourself and your money... the farmer didn't notice the crisis at all, even though everyone else was panicking.

Exactly! I love that story my friend. Brilliant. Thank you for sharing it. Even with steem going down, I've yet to see how that has impacted me because we have little to no connection any more. By UNGRIPping from the system we also UNGRIP from all the trauma, anxiety, stress and violence associated with that system. I find Mother Earth is way more gentle than the system ever was. At least I know where I stand with Mother Earth. If I make a mistake she will teach me and then forgive. I cannot say that about the system.

I love your post with this marvelous fruits... however we have to be careful not to paint the picture too black and white. Mother Earth nurtures us all, but human community as well. We very much enjoy all that new technology what brought us digital money and communication on steemit. So we are a part of the big trouble caused by it .
By the way what are tobacco plants for?

I'm fairly confident that my message has been about our relationships, including Mother Earth and each other. If you got a sense of black and white thinking it is in regards to my stand on violence, coercion and force. The majority of 'systems' are founded on that and it is up to us to walk away and forge healthy, balanced, peaceful, loving and prosperous relationships. I've made a clear distinction where that line is drawn where many people have yet to even see that line. So while 'human community' is important, it is even more important that the community not be a feudal system based on violence, coercion, greed and theft!

Tobacco is used as a gift and sacred trade when we harvest from the forest as well as smoking during ceremony.

I see your bigger picture. I was a bit irritated by: "So while people are in a panic, we are looking outside our window with over 2 feet of snow on the ground, starting our planting season and..." As if we could live in our homesteader world independent from the "real" world. We are all connected.
I forgot that tobacco is a holy plant.

I agree with you that we are all connected within the 'real world'. The real world is the physical world upon which we grow our gardens. However, it is the fictional world that is having troubles and causing the panic. That is the whole point of this post, to show the difference between the fictional constructs, upon which people panic about, and the physical realm which continues to grow plants and feed people despite what the fictional realm is doing.

The moment we assume that stocks, bonds, fiat currency and all those fictional constructs are real, then we have been sucked into their game and have lost who we really are. The fictional realm is created to hoodwink us, including titles, governments and even corporations. They are not real.

How many cans of Coke did Coke Cola make last year? Millions? Billions? How about ZERO! A corporation is a fictional construct, an idea written down on a piece of paper. People made those cans of Coke, not a corporation.

It does not matter what happens in the fictional realm. My main focus is to teach people not to fall pray to the propaganda used by the fictional constructs. Instead to seek a spiritual and physical relationship as that is the true essence of who we are. The fictional realm only resides in our imagination upon which we act upon. That is the real danger.

Have you read my book 'Graduating Life with Honours'? I explain the three realms in my book, the feudal system and all the relationships between them all.

You may enjoy it. Peace to you.

Thanks for your explanation. Just copied the first chapter of your book on my e-reader.

“starting our planting season” are you planting inside or in a greenhouse already?

We start our planting in the Earthship first. Then when the greenhouse is ready we will move it all out there. When the garden is ready some of the plants will then move again. Because we have such a short growing season (88 days) we stage our crops in this way and it works very well. The Earthship definitely is a valuable asset for us, especially with all the south facing windows.

After the age of 'hunters and gatherers' , the agriculture founded the basis of civilized societies. It's most ancient and noblest of professions. Although it yields less than modern professions but it is sustainable and very true to nature.

My father is a farmer and I have love for the sea of GREEN embedded in my genes because for generations my forefathers have followed this natural profession.

I appreciate your vision and scope of article.

My Father and grandfather were both farmers, so it runs in the family here too. Thank you for those kind words. It is great to see that people still have a love for nature, growing and stewarding. When all hell breaks lose, the farmer, gardener and shepherds will be in huge demand.

Good to hear from your side as well:) You are right when all the chaos will be settled down, peace, prosperity and simplicity will rise again.

Seeds are an investment that keeps on giving. We do the same. Save as many seeds as we can. We plant some. Guard some for the future and share our abundance with others so they too may share in the riches of abundance!

Totally agree with this.

My particular 'investment vehicle' of choice are trees. Particularly fruit and nut trees.

We have so far planted over 10,000 trees here including almost 100 bearing various fruits and nuts.

They are my pension fund that will keep on paying out long after I am gone from my material body.

And to complete the cycle of life my wish is to be buried amongst those trees to keep feeding them as I decay into the earth.

That's my goal as well. Do you propagate your own or purchase nursery stock?

We got the large bulk of the young trees for free from a reforestation scheme.

And the more specialist trees I am propagating and swapping with others.

It's a shame we are on different continents, or we could trade seeds and materials

That would have been good. One of my goals this year is to explore more different nut trees. I have hazlenuts, a few walnuts, some sweet almond and last year started raising some araucaria.

The British climate is quite limiting for the range of nut trees.

I've heard that. Do chestnuts work at all in your climate?

Ah yes - I have sweet chestnuts too!

Nut trees take a long time though to bear nuts... I am still waiting.

Only the hazlenuts so far. The oldest of the walnuts are now coming up to 6 years - not sure how long it will be until they will start to have nuts.

Awesome, how long did it take you to get up and running?

This is why I need to go back and read your stuff, pretty interested in at least getting a start on gardening this year. Free food is the best, plus healthier for the most part

It took us almost 10 years to get setup, but that is because we made a whole bunch of mistakes. Not many people living this way years ago. But if you go back through my blog, I bet you could cut it down to just a few short years. Getting the garden going is on the top of the list. You can do that from anywhere!

But if we keep the growing within the scope that we can steward, we can help the plants deal with insects, drought and most other hazards.

If we do really well, we can then share with others as well so that they can eat too!

Well said. People care, Earth care, Return of the Surplus to the first two principles.

Peace to you. Thank you. Pay it forward. The plants and animals do all the work. We just help them out for the mutual benefit of all; plants, animals and us. I believe they want to serve us and that is why they are willing to do so much work.

just awesome WWF when everything collapses will you trade your produce for silver or gold? Will need your location i’m in Canada too!

I trade food for food, seeds or other things that we need. Not really interested in gold or silver. Where in Canada do you live?

Thanks for this very real & healthy outlook on things!
One question: How did you dry your tobocco? I grew some Golden Virginia last season; it was smokeable, but no treat... I dried it halfway, and then left it in a jar for fermentation.

We hang it in my shop to air dry until it has a very low humidity. I then crush it and store it in bags in the house as I'm concerned with mold. It is then used as gifts, ceremony and trade.

Thanks @wwf, I'll try it like this next season.

I bought into ethirium at $35 and litecoin at $60 when @jeffberwick was recommending them, still no regrets, cryptos are definitely a good way of making quick cash to put towards land and greenhouses! Albeit, still the mark of the beast system.

They are only tools, still cannot eat them. But if we use those tools to build the infrastructure we need to grow our own food, then we have leveraged them well. Bravo my friend!

The major précoupation we should have seeds .... And not the kind of seeds sold by labs !!!

100% up

Yes, heirloom is the way to go! Bravo.

Great story. Some assets are more real than others. Hope to start growing my own food soon.

Bravo. There is a fellow here on Steemit who started a movement over 6 years ago. @foodisfree. He is doing great work to get people started growing free food as well.

I have never seen a tobacco seeds, tobacco seed turned out to be very small,
Thanks for sharing @wwf

Tobacco seeds are very small. One single pod that comes from a single flower can produce about 200 seeds. It is amazing how such a big plant comes from such a tiny seeds. A lesson in that for sure!

but very dear cryptocurrency market is now very weakened. ..I am very interested in reading your article @wwf

I think Steem will bounce back in a big way, especially when the fiat currencies start to crumble. But seeds will feed you! Invest in what feeds you.

Investing in seeds and agriculture generally is very gainful, apart from the guarantee of food security if offers, it offers very small risk when compared to other investments.
Thanks for this life transforming advice.

Indeed. I agree with you. well said

That's an interesting investment, but i guess you are right, since market is completely crazy we all should try to look for other opportunities.

There are always other options. ;)

bwahahahaha. I should make one with me doing that with kale leaves.

Wealth is in the soil. We can always grow green.

Always! Wealth is in our relationship with the soil, plants, animals and each other. It is all about relationships and I absolutely adore my relationship with you my friend.

And the same goes for me with you. So much changes in the real world (politics, economy, etc) but when I come here to steemit (or even in my garden or greenhouse), I know what to expect, I know what is right and wrong and I know who/what to feed to make it blossom and grow to its most beneficial potential.

... and over time we can influence others with this new paradigm of relationships so that it then starts manifesting in the real world which will then have a huge impact on politics, economy, etc). :)

World market prices are worrying about how you think ahead of time

I'm not actually worried about them. I know that we are going to be okay as we have very little connection with it any more. People worry because they are dependent upon it. Remove that dependency then it no longer matters.

nice story
thanks for sharing this
keep it on

very good I like your post.

"Somebody told us Wall Street Fell, but we were so poor, that we couldn't tell..."

I've lived in an area where the economy collapsed sometime after 1970 and never really recovered. You are speaking my language friend. My seed stock fills a five gallon popcorn tin.
