Clown Frogs Found in Argentina

in #unique6 years ago

This unique frog is found in Argentina and the uniqueness of this frog lies on its skin which can emit green under the spotlight of UV light. And also the attention of the researchers was focused on strange creatures due to accidents while studying the skin pigments of polka-dot tree frogs on Amazon.

And Scientists found the first fluorescent frog in Santa Fe, Argentina. Under normal light, and this South American polka dot tree frog (Hypsiboas punctatus) emits a choice of green, yellow and red and which is clearly very unique and very interesting.

And But when the lights are dimmed and switch to ultraviolet lighting, these little amphibians provide bright blue and green light.

And also unique, the ability to absorb light at short wavelengths and re-emit longer waves is called fluorescence, and is rare in land animals. Until now it has never been heard in amphibians.

The researchers also reported that the polka dot tree frog uses fluorescent molecules really unlike those found in other animals. And the Team published the findings on March 13, 2017 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Because fluorescence requires absorption of light, it does not occur in total darkness.
