And the real source of misinformation is…

I’ve been seeing this word “misinformation” a lot in the news lately.

Every side is pointing at the “other,” accusing them of spreading so called “lies”. It’s hard to know who to trust for un-biased insights.

So I had to feel into what it meant for me personally in order to make peace.

Here is what I can “peace” together. Perhaps it will remind someone of something 😉

The real source of “misinformation” is...

The exaggeration and over-reaction that WE CREATE with our own minds...

Stemming from a chronic inward state of unrest...which we project out onto the screen of the world.

I don’t care which side of the perceived fence you are on...

We are ALL misinformed...as long as we are operating from an unsettled nervous system.

Why? Because we are relying excessively on our reptilian brains to process the information...and we are biased towards danger detection!

When we are in this state, we think in black and white, with a lens of duality.

We see good versus evil, us versus them.

We “mis-inform” ourselves and others from our balcony of distress.

Look at what people are posting and talking about in your media feed.

Those posting about a war against this or that, the fight, the battle, the victims the victors.

Waging wars and casting characters to play out their fantasies...the narcissists versus the empaths, the vegans versus the carnivores, the right wing versus the left, the vacksers versus the unvacksed.

And this kind of divisive content, unfortunately, is what gets the most shares and likes on social media.

Perpetuating the drama and exaggeration.

And many times those of us who share this content are stuck on repeat and parrot mode and can’t come up with a single real solution to our own suffering.

But we sure have lots of advice for others. 😉

Sadly, we are the ones who have the most inner anxiety and strife.

Although we disguise themselves as truth-seekers or fact-checkers.

We couldn’t see the truth if it slapped them us the face, because our ability to see what’s right in front of us (even a peaceful serene setting) is being hijacked by our own sympathetic nervous system, a well-developed imagination and social media designers that capitalize on our human need for attention and to belong to a group.

Here’s the thing...

We can’t know that any of what we hear from “out there” is really true, just as we can’t trust what we believe “from within” is true when we are out of coherence.

This is exactly why “world peace” is an inside job.

And as the old adage goes...check yo-self before you wreck yo-self! 😂

Whether we are sharing a thought or consuming another person’s thoughts, we must first tune into our body.

Ask ourselves...

Are we consuming or sharing from a space of safety and stability or from a lack of stability and safety?

Experiment with how you speak or how you receive the information with the body relaxed and the heart open...and then with the body and heart in the opposite state.

Can you feel peaceful even though what you see on the news is portrayed as utter hysteria and chaos?

After witnessing that chaos can you describe it without exaggerating what you saw and without allowing it to derail your deep abiding train of consciousness?

If so, you have access to what polarity teachers refer to as the “divine masculine” energy...that resides in ALL of us.

The unwavering presence that remains intact and un-fucked-with despite the confusion and destruction occurring around us.

This energy brings us into safety so that we can access our intuitive guidance system and create a reality of harmony and unification.

So that we don’t need to turn on the news, post about or consult an “expert” for every little unsettling thought that comes down the pipeline either to us or through us.

How do we access this solid inner foundation?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

My favorite way is through emotional freedom technique, relaxing my pelvic floor muscles throughout the day and with slow conscious breaths.

I also like to repeat these phrases while doing the above to retrain my nervous system...

All is well

Being here is enough

I am here now in this

I’m safe to feel this

I’m safe to release this

Witnessing, trusting, knowing

All is well

Using deep slow breaths brings the heart into coherence and allows the intelligence of the heart to decipher what is true, what is not relevant, what is an exaggeration and very importantly...

How to respond...

And NOT react!

From this space we can declare that the inner war is over. Ground zero is peaceful.

Admittedly, I’m not completely immune to misinformation, but the more I engage in this practice, the more hysteria-proof I become!

The more I tap into my own divine masculine energy, the more I rescue myself from that chronic, low-grade, escape-aholic, life-phobic state.

Thank you for showing up and for receiving my heart and borderline rant 😂

Loved this post @becominghuman! Couldn't agree more. Also trying to become hysteria-proof, haha! Loved the refference to the “divine masculine” energy, we focus so much on the (wonderful) female qualities and we tend to forget that we are both, that only then we can find the balance. Thank you so much :)

I needed to hear this today. Thank you so much for sharing. I truly believe that any form of meditation helps us to reconnect with the inner peace that resides in all of us. We do just need to breath deeper and exhale longer. Peace 😊
