@tekadii here in response to the above contest proffered by a pioneer of our time @surpassinggoogle. Your service/empathy to human kind has no reckoning and I salute you for that.
my adjustments
Prior to steemit, I was a struggling undergraduate and a developing euntreprenuer with ambitions still far from being achieved. As a youngster, I was quite intrigued by the business of the 21st century but not well equipped for the venture so as expected, i made a lot of mistakes as i joined every trending platform without fore knowledge of the risks involved.
By the time I was rounding up my IT early 2017, I'd lost taste for all things online. So when i heard about steemit saga, it did not seem like a real deal so I casually made a "list of reasons" why I should give such venture a time out.
I let go of that idea, so for weeks I'd keep hoping that something good will come my way someday.. I'd have a life changing encounter with my helper (such were my fantasies).Eventually i decided to give time to investigating and evaluating the structure steemit was built, half way through.. It dawned on me! I'd being staring at an opportunity to make that difference and did next to nothing.
I choose to try rather than make wishes
And boy, was i right!
Thanks to the persistency of my colleague @samiwhyte ( This guy is one of the most industrious persons I've ever met). So i began to fall in love wiyh the idea steemit brings.
its facinating how the mind works. Just feed it with the right stuff and let it grow.. Our mind is a powerful tool.
Three months down the line, my adjustments are quite renowned
my focus has improved
Before now, i hardly could concentrate on a task. Even though i did well multi-tasking, being the jack of all trades but a master of none was unfavourable. Steemit has thought me to nurture my ambitions, stay focused on the path, no room for second guessing my choices.. I now am beginning to attain heights that were only feasible in dreams, my "easiest way out" mentality has changed. Now I'm more daring.. Challenges are now "fun times" as i face life head on.
My solo venture turned to synergy
Most part of my life has been a solo venture, I'd believed "tagging along" was more burdensome that "flying solo". We were never born intertwined after all, and if something needs to be done right, It should be done by me ( these were my ideologies before now)
Becoming a steemian changed that perspective of mine about life,
we all need each other
no man is an island
a single tree can nit make a forest
So I find myself going beyond my comfort zone, breaking the barriers and reaching out to the world that accepts me for who I am... I found acceptance in steemit.
Improved knowledge bank
This is another amazing adjustment in my life, steemit has improved my reading culture and widened my scope. Now, reading comes easy not minding whether its business, technology, trivia,entertainment and so on.
Improved thinking/thought pattern
This wonderful adjustment has revealed the world to me in a way I'd never percieved it before, this amazing web where connecting with people who welcome you as you are? Is nothing but love. And it feels better to communicate via blog and get response from a caring family.. The steem family.
These are a few adjustments I've gotten since I joined this auspicious community. You can check out my Third Month on steemit post where I highlighted few point I believe can help young steemian like myself.
I must not forget to mention that @ejemai (Rabbi ) has been of grate support and the backbone of my venture here, for that I'm grateful.
