Coastal Clean up is a worldwide program of the Ocean Conservancy organization, which aims to protect the world's oceans amid the proliferation of garbage, particularly plastic, in waters across the globe. Last May 5, 2018, our city of Lapu-lapu had coastal clean up called Limpyo sa Lapu-lapu 2018. Meaning let's clean Lapu-lapu specially the coastal areas. The Mayor coordinated with the Lapu-lapu City division so that public school teacher's of the city will be part of the clean up and so with the volunteers from other folks of the city. Look! That's our very own principal leading the activity. He's the best example of being a leader. I salute you sir! By the way that is only a parcel of the garbage that we collected during the clean up. There's a lot more in the garbage truck. Our Mayor saw the problem of the city and find solutions. This coastal clean up is good since Lapu-lapu City nowadays is one of the tourist spots in the country because of its beautiful beaches so it is a necessity to make Lapu-lapu City a Clean City.
There we are before the clean up. Happy to serve our city. We started the activity at 6:00 o'clock and ended at 9:00 o'clock in the morning. We were bringing garbage bags and other tools used in cleaning.
This is it! the coastal area that we were assigned to. Happy to be one of the volunteer participants. With this picture, we just arrived that is why most us were not in action. But definitely after a few seconds we started. Garbage that we collected were segregated and classified as biodegradable and non-biodegradable.
