A number of arguments cited to demonstrate that electronic cigarettes are dangerous and may cause problems are regularly discussed. In this trilogy we map these arguments one by one.

STATEMENT 1.

There is a big difference in quality between the different products and often the products are delivered without safety regulations.

That's right. There is currently insufficient control over both the production and the quality of the final product. This makes it possible for products of inferior quality to be offered on the market. The lack of regulations regarding the production of electronic cigarettes and e-liquids involves a number of risks. Production can happen in places where the facilities are insufficiently modernized. Among other things, it can not be guaranteed that e-liquids are free from impurities.

Fortunately, some manufacturers are aware of these issues. They try to distinguish themselves through thorough self-regulation and high quality standards.

To the consumer it is therefore advisable to choose a (well-known) brand with a good reputation. It also means that cheap is not always the best buy.

In addition, it is best advised to purchase so-called "mods". (Note: We do not talk about factory appliances) Mods are devices that are tuned or modified to drive the performance of the products. By using more powerful batteries, for example, more vapor can be produced. At the same time, the temperature can be so high that the composition of the e-liquid is changed and toxic substances are released. These products are offered on the Internet as the electronic cigarettes produced by a major manufacturer.

Decision: Due to a lack of regulation, there is a big difference in quality of products offered today. The mass of brands and products offered from all over the world makes it difficult for the consumer to make a good choice. We advise consumers to keep in mind before considering a purchase. It is also advisable not to immediately search for or to "shop" on the websites that provide unclear or few contact information.
