U.S. 2018 Mid-term Election

in #usa6 years ago

The Senate was most important and Trump held it. One of the best mid-term showings by a first-term president in decades. Opposing Trump was politically expensive for Democrats and RINOs. It has taken awhile but the Republican House cleaning over the last 10 years has been worth it.

All the numbers are not in yet, but looks like a Big win for Trump given the high number of vacant Republican House seats in play. Dems will likely gain a few more in the House and Republicans are still likely to pick up four more senate seats.

Trump did a great job stopping the vaunted blue wave and historical midterm reversals. Even with gridlock, draining the swamp is much easier without Paul Ryan and John McCain obstructing the President and their own party.. Corker and Flake are gone now too, Murkowski is damn lucky she was not running this year and the clock is running on her Senate career. Graham has transformed into a Republican Rock Star and the Republican bench is as strong as I have ever remembered. The GOP was competitive in races that were written off six months

Now we march forward with far fewer never Trump republicans against a Democrat field that has been shrinking down to high population voting districts controlled by public union money and failing academic centers also controlled by massive public money and political mercenaries.

If Dems make Pelosi Speaker of the House, there will be two years to shine a spot light on her lunacy, so the GOP prospects look pretty good the morning after the 2018 mid-term election. #MAGA. .

It most certainly was a win for Trump. They may have ceded the house but we have quashed this "blue wave" those liberal idiots kept yammering about. Unless you're speaking of a "blue wave" of liberal tears, that happened.
