Hmmm hmmmm - I am not convince this is any better than the current rep system based on many aspects @shaka raised and discussed already with you guys but...... appreciate the thinking behind it.
As a tech and algo idiot I maybe simply just don't understand the maths. I got some comments during the last days and first thought to flag them for spamming. Following this post i took a look on some numbers commented on various other users posts and got more confused.
Have to dive into it more probably.
Main question to me now is, what is the added value vs rep system? The current rep system is just a number and it helps me to resist flags if i am high enough - what is the sense of this new one only?
Die aktuelle Rep ist einzig Produkt der bisherigen Rewards und sagt sonst gar nix. Schreibt ein Wal 1000 Kommentare und upvotet sie (oder schreibt 1000 Mal ein Post mit dem Inhalt "Hello, how are you?" und upvotet es), hat er bald ne suuuper Rep.
Das wäre mit UA NICHT möglich. Ein Wal, der sich nur selbst votet, wird entwollowed und bekommt dadurch ne Mini-Rep.
Konkret, kombiniert mit beispielsweise der Formel
vote_worth = UA(voter) / UA(average) • SP • vote_strength,
würde das bedeuten, dass auch sein Upvote deutlich schwächer ausfällt als es das derzeit tut.
Da das aktuelle Rep-Ranking rein gar nichts darüber aussagt, wie angesehen ein User in der Community ist, wie sehr er sich engagiert, indem er kommentiert und upvotet, ist es auf jeden Fall begrüßenswert, etwas Neues auszuprobieren, was auf lange Sicht hoffentlich zu besseren Resultaten führen wird.
Als Schwächen des neuen Ansatzes sehe ich, dass derzeit die Witnesses überproprtional hoch bewertet werden (zu hoch!) und das Vote-Verhalten eines Users überhaupt keine Berücksichtigung findet.
Die aktuelle Rep Zusammenstellung ist mir klar - heisst das neue System nimmt Einfluss auf Rep (unwichtig) und voting Stärke der jeweiligen Votes - ok. Aber die Formel dahinter müsste man besprechen, hab bei paar gesehen welche UA Power die haben, bei manchen seh ich dies kritisch nicht nachvollziehbar sowohl nach oben wie unten - aber ist ja erst am Entwickeln. Schau mer mal - les mich da morgen noch mal tiefer ein.
