Keybase is an open source application that is used for messaging. It offers cool features and every message sent is encrypted. It has a very secured verification process.
My component for todays suggestion is the development and implementation of four features that will be of great improvement to the messaging application.
Delete message tab
Delete message tab is a tab that is used for the purpose of deleting a conversation. It is a tab that grants the users the ability to select and delete any conversation of their choice.
Pin message to top
During a conversation a user might want to pin a particular client to the top section of his chats, it is this option that enables a user to pin a message to the top of his chats. This feature when used in any conversation, it moves the conversation to the top section of already listed chats.
Clear history
Clear history is another feature that works almost like the delete message feature but the difference is that when a user uses a clear conversation button, it clears only the conversation without deleting the recipient involved whereas a delete message option deletes the whole conversation along with the recipient.
Schedule message option
A schedule message option is an option that enables the user to set his desired time for a particular message to be sent to it recipient. This feature is widely in use today and it an awesome feature that should be added because it will enable users to set a particular time and date in which they want for their messages to be sent.
Proposal
My suggestion lies in the development and implementation of a delete message feature, clearly history feature, pin to top feature and a schedule message option.
When developing this feature developers of keybase should develop this feature in such a way that each conversation on the chat view has 3 dots to it right side so that when a user clicks on this dot he can have access to Delete the message, pin message to top and also clear the conversation. It can also be developed in a way that a user can click and hold on any conversation for some seconds before this features can be display.
When developing the schedule message feature, it should have a date and time field so that a user that desires to schedule his message can input a certain date and time in which he wants for his message to be sent to his recipient.
Mockups / Examples
How the delete message, pin message to top and clear message history should be showing when a user clicks on the 3 dot or when the user press and hold on any conversation.
When a user clicks on schedule option, a schedule template should be displayed so that he can set his parameters.
Benefits
Have been using keybase messaging application for some days now and it has never disappointed me. Keybase application comes with cool features and I believe the addition of the above features will make it even better.
Addition of a delete message option to the messaging application will be super cool, it will be a great feature for users as it will provide the users with a powerful option to delete any conversation that they feel should be deleted.
Pin message to top option will also be a nice option for user especially when the conversation in question is an important one. With this option it will be easy for a user to get quick access to important conversation in which he or she had pinned to top of his messages previously.
A clear history will grant the users an option inwhich they can use in clearing their conversation history without deleting the recipient along sides the messages.
Schedule message feature has it own benefits, it is through a schedule option that a user can schedule a message to be sent in two weeks time. This feature is essential because it provides the user with an option to choose the date and time in which they are willing to send a particular message to a user. Through this options, users can schedule future event and birthday messages to their clients.
